Privacy Policy

• Visitors who browse countrz.com or send us their menu.
• Restaurant clients, meaning the owners and staff we build a website for, including anyone who signs in to their order dashboard.
• Diners who order from a restaurant website we built. For diner information, the restaurant decides how it is used and we act on its behalf (see section 5).

When you send us your menu: your name, restaurant name, email, phone number, how you take orders today, any menu link or menu file you upload, and your notes.

When we build your website: your contact details and the restaurant content you send us, such as your menu, prices, photos, logo, hours and location. If you sign in to your order dashboard, we also hold your login email and a password that is stored securely by our login provider, so we never see it in plain text.

When you pay us: payments are handled by our payment processor. We receive the amount and whether it succeeded, and we never receive or store your full card number.

Diner orders: when someone orders from a restaurant website we built, we process their name, phone number, email if given, the items ordered, notes, and pickup time. Card payments go directly to Stripe.

Automatically: we use privacy friendly analytics that count page views and record general information such as the referring site, device and browser type, and country. It does not use cookies and does not identify you across other websites. Our servers also keep standard logs, including IP address, for security and troubleshooting.

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary, for example to keep a restaurant signed in to its order dashboard. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run ad or social media tracking pixels. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first.

Do Not Track. Because we do not track visitors across third party websites, our sites work the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activity over time and across different websites through our sites.

• To reply to you and send the free mockup you asked for.
• To design, build, launch, host and support your restaurant’s website.
• To send quotes and invoices and take payment.
• To deliver diner orders to the restaurant they were placed with.
• To keep our sites secure, prevent fraud, and meet legal and tax obligations.
• To understand, in aggregate, how our sites are used so we can improve them.

We will only email you about your inquiry or your project. We will not add you to a marketing list without your agreement. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

When a diner orders from a restaurant’s website, that restaurant owns the diner’s information and decides how it is used. Countrz processes it only on the restaurant’s behalf, to run and support that restaurant’s website. We do not use diner information for our own marketing, we do not share it with other restaurants, and we do not sell it.

If you are a diner and want to access or delete your information, please contact the restaurant you ordered from. If you contact us instead, we will pass your request to the restaurant and help them respond.

We share information only with service providers that help us run Countrz, and only what they need to do their job:

• Stripe, which processes card payments.
• Our website hosting and database providers, which store information on our behalf.
• Our email delivery provider, which delivers the menus and messages you send us.
• Our analytics provider, which receives the anonymous usage information described above.

These providers act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes. Diner order details are also shared with the restaurant the order was placed with. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our clients or others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.

• Menus and messages you send us: up to two years, unless you become a client.
• Client project information: for as long as we are building or hosting your website.
• When we stop hosting a restaurant’s website: we delete its data, including its diner order history, within 30 days, after giving the restaurant a chance to get a copy.
• Invoices and tax records: as long as the law requires, normally up to seven years.
• Server logs: for a short period, used only for security and troubleshooting.

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, give you a copy, or delete it. Restaurant clients can also ask for a copy of their menu and order data. Email countrz.support@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within 45 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of them.

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), you can review and request changes to the personal information we hold by emailing us, as described in section 8. Sections 2 and 6 list the categories of information we collect and the categories of third parties we share it with. Our Do Not Track practices are described in section 3. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

All traffic to our sites is encrypted, card details go straight to Stripe, and each restaurant’s data is kept separate so only that restaurant’s login can reach it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will notify affected people of a breach as the law requires.

Countrz is a business service and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We are based in the United States and our providers store information in the United States.

When we update this policy we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also email the restaurants we work with before it takes effect.
